I think these forums are a good place to hear the pros and cons and ask questions about the referendum. I'm glad they're having several of these.

@Billmytaxestoohigh: I couldn't agree with you more!!!!! If they get the money first, there's no hope for reform. To the "yes" voters who think higher taxes will "keep our property values high"... I don't know about you but my TAXES have gone up (A LOT) as my property value has dropped. Excessive taxes does not make my house (or OP) desirable.

The board of D97 has proven itself to be a poor negotiator - why give them more money before they have a new contract with concession and give backs . If we pass this referendum all hope of any kind of reform is gone - D97 needs to show they will make hard decision before we can give them anymore of our hard earned money!

what are you talking about? I was at the Mann meeting and there was an opportunity to make a follow-up comment. Were you the person who flounced off? If so, maybe you missed that part.

Why isn't there another opponent of the referendum on the panel? All of the forums have been completely lopsided in this respect. How will questions beasked? Will people be able to ask follow-up questions? The index card format does not work because it doesn't allow for any kind of follow-up at all.
