An eighth grader from Roosevelt Middle School has qualified to compete at the state level of the National Geographic Geography Bee next month, according to a statement Monday from District 90.
Jake Grant, who recently won the school’s geography bee for the fourth year in a row, was among the top 100 scorers on a test to qualify for the state competition. School winners throughout the state were eligible to take the test. The state bee will be held March 30 at the College of DuPage Jack H. Turner Conference Center in Glen Ellyn.
One winner from each state will advance to the national competition, to be held in Washington, D.C. May 22-24.
