The 32nd annual Trustees Benefit Concert and Gala next month at Dominican University will feature performances by a five-time Grammy nominee and a former winner of the BBC Singer of the World Competition.
Michael Feinstein is a multi-platinum-selling Grammy nominee, and he's beloved for his efforts to preserve and celebrate America's 20th Century popular songbook, according to a statement from Dominican University. Feinstein founded an organization dedicated to preserving the songbook through educational programs and competitions.
The other performer is Nicole Cabell, an internationally renowned soprano who recently performed in a production at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. She won the BBC Singer of the World Competition in 2005. Last year she also performed at the Royal Opera House, Metropolitan Opera and Cincinnati Opera, and she's teamed up with orchestras from the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony and Chicago Symphony.
Concert tickets to the March 10 show in the Lund Auditorium at Dominican start at $25. Tickets to the gala, which includes the concert, cocktail reception and dinner, are $350. All proceeds benefit student scholarships at the university.
