Oak Park begins search for next round of CTA Green Line mini-mural artists

The search is underway to find to next 15 artists to paint murals on the railroad walls along the Green Line corridor.
The project was launched in 2010 to promote creative expression and visually enhance the area. Each artist receives $500 for materials prior to beginning the project and another $500 upon completion.
Deadline to apply for the first round is 5 p.m., Tues., April 30. Seven artists will be notified by Friday, May 10, with the goal of having their murals on the walls by A Day in Our Village, on Sun., June 2.
The concepts of another eight artists will be selected in early June. Deadline to apply for round is 5 p.m., Fri., May 31. The winning concepts will be selected by a panel of judges from the Village's Public Arts Advisory Commission, Oak Park Area Arts Council and the local arts community.
