The Oak Park Public Library's Board of Trustees has named current staffer Rebecca Teasdale the library's interim director while they work with a consultant to find a new one by the end of March, according to a statement from the library.
Teasdale is the library's assistant director for public services and programs and her interim position will begin Jan. 1. A national search process will be conducted to find a replacement for Dee Brennan, who will leave at the end of this month to become executive director for Reading Across Illinois Library System.
The board has engaged Alice Calabrese-Berry, president of the River Forest Public Library Board and an adjunct faculty member at Dominican University, as a search consultant. She also assisted with the search in 2006 that resulted in the hiring of Brennan.
