Veterans Day ceremony to be held Friday at Scoville Park

A Veterans Day ceremony open to the public will be held Friday morning at Scoville Park.

The ceremony is set to begin at 11 a.m. at the Peace Triumphant Monument at the park at 800 W. Lake St. The Oak Park Police Honor Guard Unit will present the colors and Fire Department Chaplin Loretto Madonia will give the invocation.

Local dignitaries have been invited to speak and the History Singers will lead musical tributes. Rabbi Robin Damsky will close with the Benediction. The Ernest Hemingway Museum, 200 N. Oak Park Ave., will host a reception after the ceremony in partnership with the Park District of Oak Park.
