I've visited this "overly packed" Culver's 7 times now and it's not been a charm! The food is lukewarm at best, service isn't good, the tables are dirty as well as the doors, they got my order wrong 4 out of 7 visits, your shoes "stick" to their unmopped floors and there is WAY too much fooling around going on with the very young employees. They all move around as if to look busy, but they really aren't doing anything. I finally called Corporate and will NOT be going back there.

DRD- I agree with you- a light is better than a stop sign just as a stop sign is better than an illuminated crosswalk. I'm happy there is a Culver's nearer to OP now but I just worry about kid (and adult) pedestrians and bikers heading over to get custard. It's like the light that was installed at Home & Washington... only got put up when a kid was hit walking to school. Hopefully the crosswalk does it's job but I doubt it will.

@AL from Oak Park What makes you think that people are going to stop at a stop sign at Home/Roosevelt? I can't tell you how many times I've nearly been broad-sided by idiots that don't stop at stop signs in Oak Park. And it never fails, because of the distinctive vehicle stickers, the idiots live in Oak Park. Is there a law in Oak Park that Oak Parkers don't have to stop at stop signs in Oak Park? The only thing that will force people to actually stop is a stop LIGHT.

First of all Culvers fan- read the comment policy at the bottom of the bar. Your name calling is not appreciated and would be offensive had actually spelled "twit" correctly. Secondly, I love Culver's but I do know that without a stop sign or light, MOST cars will not stop. Look at any other intersection that has the crosswalk lines and you will see no one stopping for pedestrians or bikes crossing.

Custard is excellent-great variety of flavors changing monthly -- and food is fresh, good tasting. Loved them in Wisconsin and glad to have a shorter trip than going to the one in Lyons the last few years. Wish we could have got them onto the old Girl Scout building site or other areas on north side of Roosevelt.

Berwyn continues to beautify their side of the street while Oak Park gets stuck with Berwyn's eyesore - namely the Turano truck receptacle across from the bakery. What a disgrace to have all those nasty looking trucks on the Oak Park side and across the street in Berwyn are brand new buildings. I hope Oak Park ends the lease agreement with Turano's and gets them to move their ugly trucks and fenced in lots on their side of the street.

They will be installing lighted crosswalk at the intersection of Home and Roosevelt as part of the streetscape improvements currently going on. Good planning if you ask me...

No crosswalk at Home & Roosevelt. Just a heads up if you are walking or riding your bike. Cars will NOT stop. Bad planning, in my opinion. There should be a light.
