Joseph S. Gullo, 86, a longtime resident of Oak Park, died on Nov. 24, 2010. Born in 1924, he was a teacher, counselor and administrator of guidance programs in the Chicago public schools. He loved helping young people set and attain career goals.
Mary Philomena Puccinelli, 80, of Oak Park, died on Nov. 24, 2010 in the presence of her children. Born in Ireland and educated in a one-room schoolhouse in County Wexford, she became a midwife in England and a nurse in America, where she delivered hundreds of babies and shared her boundless love with everyone lucky enough to have met her.
Henry D. Bohn, 94, of Oak Park, died in his home on Nov. 21, 2010. Born on June 22, 1916 at Westside Hospital in Chicago to the late Henry A. and Margaret (nee Deist) Bohn, he graduated from Austin High School in Chicago.
Lawrence N. Hansen, vice president of the Joyce Foundation in Chicago since 1994 and former aide to former Vice President Walter Mondale and U.S. Senator Adlai E. Stevenson III, died of cancer at his home in River Forest on Nov. 15, 2010. He was 69.
Shirley A. Genge (nee Evans), 63, a longtime resident of Oak Park, died on Nov. 6, 2010 at Rush Medical Center. Born on March 7, 1947 in Long Beach, Calif., to Wesley and Nellie Evans, she graduated from Holmes Elementary School and Oak Park and River Forest High School.
Cornelius Sullivan, 93, died on Nov. 6, 2010. He will be remembered for his warm heart, big smile, and love of family. Mr. Sullivan is survived by his wife, Margaret (nee Sullivan) and his children, Joann (the late Bill) Morency, Michael (Jamie) Sullivan, and Mary (Jon) Weinand.
