An Oak Park man was arrested at an Indiana hotel Saturday night for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. Samuel Henzel, 29, allegedly drove from Oak Park the evening of Oct. 30 to a Comfort Suites in the Indianapolis suburb of Westfield, where he met the girl.
As an island between Chicago's West Side and some of the rougher suburbs, Oak Park and River Forest share many of the same problems. Robbers, thieves and drug dealers often look at the two towns and see only money and victims.
Katrice L. Campbell of Oak Park was arrested the morning of Oct. 15 at her former home on the 900 block of North Humphrey Ave. in Oak Park, where she was charged with battery to a Hazelcrest woman and criminal trespass to a residence.
A bank robber tried to hit an Oak Park branch of U.S. Bank Friday morning, but the FBI said the man left empty-handed. The attempted robbery occurred at the 104 N. Oak Park Ave. branch of U.S. Bank around 10 a.m., according to FBI spokeswoman Cynthia Yates.
