Seven Percy Julian Middle School students were charged with disorderly conduct, and four were additionally charged with battery and mob action for an attack on a fellow student that occurred early in May.
Thanks to a surveillance video from a nearby village and a regional crime bulletin program, the River Forest police department managed to nab a man suspected of breaking into a River Forest business, stealing a purse, and later making charges to credit cards he found inside.
Four offenders approached a victim walking northbound on the 1500 block of N. Austin on May 20 at 12:30 a.m., and one offender asked the victim for change. The victim continued walking when one of the offenders struck him in the back of the head with a hard object, causing the victim to drop his cell phone.
Three unknown offenders approached a victim on the 800 block of Home Ave. at 8:20 p.m. on May 11. Two of them robbed the victim at gunpoint, removing his briefcase, which contained miscellaneous items and $85 in cash.
A registered gang member with a past conviction list that includes attempted murder of a police officer, assault, larceny and more was picked up by the River Forest Police Department on May 13 in connection with a residential burglary that occurred earlier this month.
An offender described as a male between 23 and 27 years old, with a medium build and black hair, exited Oak Park Records, on the 100 block of S. Oak Park Ave., at just after noon on May 6, with records concealed under his jacket that he hadn't paid for.
A 17-year-old male Oak Park resident was arrested May 9 and charged with disorderly conduct for his involvement in creating a girl-ranking list that stirred a great deal of controversy at Oak Park and River Forest High School in January.
River Forest police have arrested a Dominican University student for the sexual assault of a female student, after he surrendered himself to police on May 5. Xavier Patterson, 24, of the 4300 block of W. Augusta in Chicago, was arrested and charged with felony criminal sexual assault for an incident that took place on May 4 at approximately 1:50 a.m.
Oak Park police Monday afternoon released images of the man believed to be responsible for an attack and robbery that occurred on the 300 block of North Oak Park Avenue on April 28. Police have said the same suspect is possibly responsible for four similar attacks on lone women in Oak Park since March 30.
