Barbara Lynne Porter, 74, a resident of Mills Tower in Oak Park, died on March 19, 2013. She received a degree in theater from Mundelein College and taught at St. Peter Elementary School in Skokie for 32 years.

Margot E. Clayton of Oak Park died on March 18, 2013. Born in Oak Park on April 26, 1943 to the late Bernard and Leila Kinsala, she was raised in the Austin area, graduated from Austin High School and in 1965 from Cornell College.

Richard Ellis Akin, 67, a longtime Oak Park resident, died on March 12, 2013 at Rush University Medical Center. Born on Aug. 21, 1945 in Pueblo, Colo. to Ellis and Esther Akin, he was raised in Overland Park, Kan., where he graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School

Miles William Hughes, 44, known for his singular wit and love of family, died suddenly in the arms of his lifelong love, Leigh Ann Hayward Hughes, in Oak Park, on March 17.

Anna Mae Rogas, 93, of River Forest, formerly of Forest Park died on March 11, 2013. She is survived by Douglas, her husband of 70 years; her daughter, Patricia Hackett; and her grandchild, Colin. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Daniel Hackett.

Gayle Lynne Affinito (nee Burton), 66, of Oak Park, died on March 5, 2013. She had a successful career as a finance and credit manager for Peterbilt-Kenworth, Navistar, and HSBC.

Matthew William Bachmann, 65, succumbed to the ravages of Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA), combined with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) on March 14, 2013.

Barbara Griffin, 81, formerly of River Forest, died on March 9, 2013. Born on Dec. 4, 1931 in Chicago, she was one of three girls born to Charles and Lucille Griffin.

Francis James "Jim" Perkins died on March 8, 2013 in Many, La. Born on June 6, 1922 in Chicago, he graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School and from the University of Dubuque.
