Due to a punishing run-game and a fearless defense, there was no letdown for OPRF at Morton Friday night. The Huskies followed up a shocking 10-7 upset of West Suburban (Silver) Conference foe Hinsdale Central with an 18-0 blanking of the Mustangs in Berwyn.
This is serious. In last week's Viewpoints section of the Wednesday Journal a self-described "caffeine deprived Oak Parker" wrote in complaining about cyclists?#34;yes cyclists?#34;monopolizing the outside chairs at Starbucks on Lake Street both Saturday and Sunday mornings after long group rides.
The drivers who snarl traffic to gawk at a two-car pile up in the far left lane of the expressway turn me from puppy dog happy to alligator irritable in a manner of seconds. Why are people drawn toward blood and guts, crunched steel and smoldering engines, or even the possible collapse of a 15-game divisional lead?
