A 17-year-old male Oak Park resident was arrested May 9 and charged with disorderly conduct for his involvement in creating a girl-ranking list that stirred a great deal of controversy at Oak Park and River Forest High School in January.
River Forest police have arrested a Dominican University student for the sexual assault of a female student, after he surrendered himself to police on May 5. Xavier Patterson, 24, of the 4300 block of W. Augusta in Chicago, was arrested and charged with felony criminal sexual assault for an incident that took place on May 4 at approximately 1:50 a.m.
Oak Park police Monday afternoon released images of the man believed to be responsible for an attack and robbery that occurred on the 300 block of North Oak Park Avenue on April 28. Police have said the same suspect is possibly responsible for four similar attacks on lone women in Oak Park since March 30.
Oak Park police have arrested a man for leaving the scene of a car accident that injured an 8-year-old boy on the afternoon of April 30. Marcus M. Backstrom, 29, of the 1100 block of S. Austin, was arrested for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and other traffic violations.
Another woman was attacked and robbed Thursday night in an alley behind First United Methodist Church, an incident Oak Park police said is likely connected to four earlier attacks this month. Oak Park Deputy Police Chief Anthony Ambrose said the woman, who was in her mid-20s, was attacked in the alley behind the 300 block of North Oak Park Avenue around 8 p.m. Thursday night.
A female Forest Park resident was riding the CTA Blue Line headed eastbound between the Oak Park and Harlem stops on April 23 when she was robbed by an unknown offender described as a male between 40 and 45 years old, between 5-feet-4 and 5-feet-5, with a slim build, a very dark complexion, and messy facial hair.
A Cicero man, believed to be connected to a string of copper thefts in Oak Park, was arrested Wednesday. According to Oak Park police summary reports, Henry W. Teska, 23, of the 5800 block of W. Roosevelt, was arrested for felony and misdemeanor theft and criminal damage to property for separate thefts that occurred at locations between the 1000 and 1100 blocks of Lyman.
