River Forest police have arrested a registered sex offender after he attempted to kidnap a village resident by forcing her into his vehicle and driving off. The woman fought her kidnapper, and was able to escape the vehicle.
An unknown offender, described as a white or Hispanic male between 18 and 25 years old, of average weight, with black hair and a white bandana covering his face, entered a business located on the 6500 block of Roosevelt at just after 7 p.m., Aug. 5 and displayed a silver semi-automatic handgun with black grips.
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with a handful of felonies after Oak Park police turned up cannabis, cocaine, weapons, and possibly stolen electronics in an Aug. 4 drug bust. Two other Oak Park men were also charged in connection with the arrests.
The three suspects in the July murder of a Chicago woman in River Forest were indicted Thursday on first-degree murder charges. An arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 10 at the Maybrook courthouse in Maywood.

Terrell L. Carter, 20, of the 1500 block of South Homan in Chicago was arrested for robbery, aggravated battery to a police officer, and resisting a peace officer on the 100 block of Harrison on July 13.
