Dr. Harold James Lane, 84, from Henning, died on Dec. 14 in River Forest. Born on June 27, 1927 to Alonzo Lyman and Margaret (Linfoot) Lane, he received his B.S. degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and his M.D. from the University of Illinois in Chicago Medical School.
Elizabeth Larea Moore, 89, a two-year resident of Oak Park, formerly of San Diego, died at her home on Dec. 14, 2011. Born in York, Neb., on March 19, 1922 to Hugh and Elizabeth Pursel, she is survived by her son, Rob (Marilyn) Moore of Oak Park; her daughter, Janis Moore; and five grandchildren.
Gregory F. Ceurvorst, 65, of Oak Park, died unexpectedly at home on Dec. 17, 2011. Born on Oct. 20, 1946, the son of Gerard R. and Teckla Ceurvorst, he married Georgia Frances States on Feb. 3, 1980. Known professionally as John Bishop, he was a dedicated and passionate jazz guitarist.
Mildred E. Goldberg, 91, died on Dec. 5, 2011 in Barrington at the home of her son, Richard. Born on Dec. 2, 1920 in Chicago to Daniel and Grace McGinnity, she was a longtime resident of River Forest and Chicago. During her life, she was involved in many charitable organizations.
Ray A. Good Jr., 91, of River Forest, died on Nov. 28, 2011 in his home. Born in Chicago to Ray and Lillian Good, he attended Irving School in Oak Park and graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School and the University of Illinois-Champaign, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.
Carolyn Potokar, 80, a lifelong resident of Oak Park, died on Dec. 8, 2011 at West Suburban Hospital. She was a member of Oak Park Village Players, and she and her late husband served as extras in many locally filmed movies. She also loved to ice skate and was an avid traveler.
Moira Patricia "Pat" Koberstine (nee Mulroy), 80, of Oak Park died on Dec. 1, 2011. Born in Montreal, she was a longtime art teacher at Ascension School in Oak Park and in the Forest Park public schools.
Kent David Palmer, 47, of Madison, Wis., formerly of Oak Park, died on Nov. 28, 2011 in his home from complications of diabetes. Born in Chicago on March 30, 1964 to David and Marilyn J. (Erickson) Palmer, he graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School where he was a member of the 1981 state championship baseball team.
Ralph Leonard, 74, of River Forest, died suddenly on Nov. 30, 2011 while attending a theater performance. Born in Sharon, Penn. in 1936, he was the oldest of four children. His father was an engineer for Westinghouse; his mother had been a teacher.
