My husband and I begin talking in earnest about redoing our kitchen. We've lived in our Oak Park brick Georgian for almost four years. The house dates from 1950, when wall-to-wall carpeting, not crown molding, was the rage. It's plain but functional. We've added some wood floors, for fear of getting kicked out of town.
A dog seldom walks the Earth beyond a decade and a half, and every dog owner knows it. That might explain why we dog owners cling to them, and to each other. Gathering at parks with other dogs and their owners gives us the chance to cherish our best friends, and make some new human ones as well.
There is treasure to be found in Oak Park at 605 Lake St. Since 1983, MOMENTA, Oak Park's premier performing dance troupe, has been presenting high quality dance concerts each spring and fall. Their current spring concert, "New Dances?#34;A Second Generation" is no exception?#34;an evening of fresh, committed dancers presenting powerful works with strength, humor, and talent.

I have a dear, distant friend I've never met. Her name is Sylvia and she lives in Ottawa, Canada. Mark David, her son, and his beautiful wife Jacquitta, are two of my closest and dearest friends who (I'm happy to say) are never ill at ease when it comes to cooking for a chef.
Like most entrepreneurs, Traci Weathers wants to attract her target demographic?#34;in her case teenage girls?#34;to her clothes, makeup and accessories shop. She hopes they buy the handbags, nail polish and other items that reflect "the hottest trends" stocked in Eye Openers, 7017 W. North Ave., which opened Feb. 26.
A man reportedly attempted to lure a 12-year-old Oak Park girl into his car on Harrison Avenue near Austin Boulevard the afternoon of March 1. The man, described as in his late 20s, 5-feet-4 and 130-140 pounds, was driving a tan, older "round bodied" auto. He attempted to entice the girl into his car, saying "Can you help me get money for my car? It's out of gas."
