The River Forest Township Assessor received a major increase in her modest budget last week. But it left neither the givers, the township board of trustees, nor the receiver, Assessor Rogue Weiland, happy or content.
Other than fresh sod, West Suburban Hospital isn't sure what will go at the site of a vacant two flat it owns at 209 N. Humphrey Ave., but demolition of that building may begin as early as Thursday, said hospital spokesperson Molly Gaus.

Saturday night the Oak Park and River Forest softball team gave a graduation present to its families, friends, and classmates: The long pursued Class AA State championship. In one of the longest championship games in Illinois history, the Huskies defeated four-time State champion Moline 4-1 in 11 innings at Eastside Centre in East Peoria.
