Softball East Peoria will soon welcome the Oak Park and River Forest softball program to town yet again, as the Huskies earned their fourth consecutive trip downstate for the IHSA Class AA State Softball tournament with a 3-1 victory over Glenbrook North in their own super-sectional on Monday.

State Volleyball Tournament The Oak Park and River Forest volleyball team did take home a trophy as expected after the IHSA Class AA State tournament at Hoffman Estates High School on Saturday, but it wasn't the one the team had in mind.
The Fenwick softball team needed two extra innings and two hits by center fielder Jaime Loomis to get the job done last week as the Friars edged their area-rival Trinity by a score of 2-1 in the semifinal of the St. Ignatius Sectional. The Friars fell 7-1 to cross-town rival Oak Park and River Forest in the sectional championship at UIC on Saturday.
There have been worse things a team has gone through in one season, I'm sure of it. And there are U.S. soldiers, some of whom are very close in age to these baseball players, presently risking their lives fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The third time didn't turn out to be a charm for the Oak Park and River Forest soccer team when the Huskies took on West Suburban (Silver) Conference foe Lyons Township in the Oak Park Sectional title game on May 31. The Huskies fell 3-1 as Lyons took home its third straight sectional title, each coming from wins over OPRF.
