With behavioral problems among Oak Park youth continuing to be a major focus for police and other officials, village officials are considering assigning two police officers to serve as resource officers for the village's eight public elementary schools.

Oak Park police have arrested a suspect in a recent string of armed robberies. Chris Harris, 43, of Chicago was arrested the night of Aug. 9 in the 5900 block of Rice Street after a brief foot chase following the alleged armed robbery of an Oak Park woman on Iowa Street near Austin Boulevard.
