River Forest's 125th Anniversary Celebration

After a relatively quiet summer, the anniversary celebration is kicking into full gear again. Here are the September events. October will have a full calendar, too.

Sept. 10: Clear Skies Festival. Food, dancing and games in Keystone Park from 3 to 9 p.m. Call Michelle Biondo at 366-6660.

Sept. 17: Tour the Grunow/Accardo mansion at 915 Franklin Ave. A benefit for the Historical Society of Oak Park and River Forest. Call 848-6755.

Sept. 21: A showing of Cliff Johnson's 1999 film on the state of religious relations in River Forest, followed by a discussion by local religious leaders. At West Suburban Temple Har Zion. Call Rabbi Victor Mirelman at 366-2081 or Rev. F. Dean Lueking at 366-8599.

Sept. 24: Makin' Tracks 5K Run through River Forest. Begins at 9 a.m. at Concordia University. Food, entertainment, prizes and awards; proceeds benefit the Concordia track and stadium. Call Brian Becker at 209-4090 or Julia Faust at 366-9074.

Sept. 24: Wine-tasting party at the River Forest Community Center. Call Dick Chappell at 771-6159.

Sept. 25: Bach's Cantata 29, "We Thank You O God," at Grace Lutheran Church, 7300 W. Division St. Call Rev. F. Dean Lueking at 366-8599.
