RF hires Palm's right-hand assistant
An experienced manager will become Village Administrator Eric Palm's right-hand person at village hall starting later this month.
Lisa Scheiner, who serves as assistant village administrator in Burr Ridge, will begin her duties here on Sept. 16.
"I am excited to have Lisa as a part of the management team in River Forest," Palm said. "She brings a lot of experience to the table in many of the key functional areas we were looking for, such as human resources, labor relations and risk management. Lisa is a strong believer in delivering exceptional customer service, which will serve us well in River Forest. She will be a positive addition to the team."
Scheiner will oversee the village's building department as well as manage human resources, health benefits, labor relations, information technology and risk management. She also will assist Palm in managing the budget and economic development initiatives.
Scheiner worked for Burr Ridge for the past 10 years as well as Orland Park and St. Charles. She holds a bachelor's degree and a master's in public administration — both from Northern Illinois University.
"Throughout the process, I was, and continue to be, impressed by the professionalism and commitment to service displayed by the River Forest staff and board of trustees," she said in a statement. "I am eager to join the team and work closely with Mr. Palm to accomplish the board's goals and preserve the community's high quality of life."

WHY. For a village of this size to have TWO admin folks? Now, if the village can greatly expand Economic Development - and I do not mean like Frank Paris, by giving away a prime North Ave space to a School - who pays no property Tax and of course no sales Tax.
