Each fall, for many years, the Wednesday Journal and Forest Park Review publish a special section called Community of Caring. This section is an effort to focus readers' attention on the annual fundraising efforts of the local charities by telling the stories of people who received social services from the agencies.

Community of Caring returns and it continues its simple mission of storytelling. We have chosen a dozen local organizations. Some have been in service for decades, a couple are almost brand new. They serve kids, teens, elders, people with disabilities and people who find themselves in need.

Bravo Wednesday Journal and hats off to the team of people who pulled this section together. People lending a helping hand makes OP special, even if your act of kindness is secretly slipping a Milk Bone through the fence to your neighbor's dog.
