Agnes H. Finnegan, 103, a longtime resident of Oak Park, passed away at home on Sept. 25, 2011. Born on July 29, 1908 in Mulhull, Okla., to Michael and Mary Devitt. Raised in Waukon, Iowa, she graduated from Waukon High School.
Mrs. Finnegan was a bookkeeper with Sears Roebuck & Co. until her retirement in 1973. She enjoyed writing poetry and creating personalized books.
She was the wife of the late John Finnegan; the sister of the late Leo Devitt, Mabel Hayes, Margaret Higgins, Hazel Grayson, Martin Devitt, Loretta Hancock, Alice Delaney and Harold Devitt; and the aunt of many.
Visitation will be held on Oct. 3 at 8:30 a.m. until time of prayers at 10 a.m. at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edmund Church, 188 S. Oak Park Ave, Oak Park, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
