Intermittent power failures resulting from a wiring problem couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of a sellout crowd at "An Evening on the Orient Express," the Preview Party for the 34th Annual Oak Park-River Forest Infant Welfare Society ASID Showcase House. The 450 guests toured the Showcase House rooms, decorated by more than 25 members of the American Society of Interior Designers, the adjacent coach house and tents set up throughout the Euclid Avenue property, and enjoyed food, drink and entertainment.

The event also launched a year-long celebration of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Oak Park-River Forest Infant Welfare Society. Proceeds from the Showcase House and related activities benefit the Oak Park-River Forest Infant Welfare Society Clinic at 320 Lake St.
