Nutrition benefits must not be cut

Opinion: Letters To The Editor

Congress went into its summer recess without passing an agriculture bill that would sustain nutrition programs. Nutrition programs are in stalemate. President Obama has promised to veto any bill that does not provide for nutrition assistance. Now is the time to write and call the president and all our elected congressmen and senators and demand that food stamps, Link cards and all benefits of the nutrition program, be protected and safeguarded. The loss of these will be a debacle unlike anything we have witnessed as citizens of this country. Call! Write! And do it now!
