Elijah Osagboro, 17, of the 100 block of South Austin Boulevard, was arrested Friday after allegedly threatening and robbing his ex-girlfriend on her way to school.

According to police Osagboro pushed the 17-year-old Oak Park girl against a garage in an alley behind the 100 block of South Elmwood Avenue, held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her Friday morning at about 8 a.m.

"The victim attempted to use a cellphone to call 911, and he took the phone from her," said Oak Park Police Cmdr. LaDon Reynolds.

The victim told police Osagboro struck her with an open hand and dragged her by the shirt. According to police, she broke free and alerted a police officer parked near Ridgeland and Pleasant avenues.

Osagboro was charged with armed robbery, domestic battery, unlawful restraint and unlawful interference of reporting domestic violence.

"Because he was charged with two felony offenses, he's being charged as an adult," said Reynolds.

Osagboro has a Sept. 30 court date at Maybrook courthouse in Maywood.
