Carl Tantillo, 85, WWII veteran, Oak Park resident

Carl R. Tantillo, 85, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sept. 7, 2011 at home. Born and raised in Chicago, he married his Waller High School sweetheart, raised his family, and eventually ran his own upholstery business.

A husband, father, and trusted friend of many, he will be remembered most for his kindness and his sense of humor.

Carl Tantillo is survived by his wife, Dorothy (nee Adam); his brother, Ray (Harriet); his children, Donald (Susan), Patrick (Violet), and Cathryn (Ronald); and his grandchildren Carla, Amy, Mike, Brian and Erin.

A private memorial service will be held for family members.
