Investigation of Katrina must be independent

Why did it take so long for a federal response to Hurricane Katrina? It is finally time for people to realize that the Bush administration has taken away the security we once held in our homeland. Not only did Bush take away the funding for fixing the levees in New Orleans and put it towards war, he is trying to control the investigation of the federal response to Hurricane Katrina. There are questions that need to be answered and won't be unless we create an independent commission modeled after the 9/11 Commission. We cannot let one political party, especially one that is currently holding most of the control in the government, to control this investigation. This investigation must be independent of the politicians and have its own investigators, budget, and subpoena authority. Don't allow this to be covered up.
