President Barack Obama is so popular in Oak Park that local Democrats aren't even campaigning here. Instead they're boarding buses each Saturday to campaign for him in Iowa.
Meanwhile, local Republicans are so few in number that they know they aren't a threat locally and will instead focus on ferreting out their largely invisible fellow GOPers for future contests.
That is the odd reality of presidential politics in Oak Park, circa 2012.
