Joseph W. Snyder, 51, died suddenly at his home in Carlsbad, Calif., on Sept. 3, 2013. Born in Chicago on Aug. 19, 1962, he played in the brass section of the Imperial Drum and Bugle Corps and the Chicago Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps. He was an active participant in Viking battle reenactments and was known for his tremendous sense of humor and kind heart.
Joe Snyder is survived by his parents, Dick and Louise; his siblings, Cathi Flanagan, John (Patricia), Jim, and Mary; his nephews and nieces, Michelle, Kelly, Hans, Jen, and Tom; and his great-niece and great-nephew, Hailey and Drew.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Drechsler, Brown, and Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St. in Oak Park. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 at Ascension Church, 808 S. East Ave. in Oak Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Ascension Church are appreciated.
