Though no dead birds found in Oak Park and tested for West Nile virus have shown signs of being infected with the disease, the village is urging residents to report dead crows, robins and blue jays to its West Nile hotline at 358-5694.

The village had previously sought information only on dead crows and blue jays, but robins have recently been added to the list, after some in the state tested positive for the virus.

Birds reported should show no signs of an obvious death, such as "being crushed in a roadway or killed by gunshot," according to a village press statement.
