Kudos to the grads

Six Oak Park residents were among the 1,300 graduating from Roosevelt University in Chicago: Kimberly Crawford and Christine Hayevsky, who received master's degrees in elementary education, Nickolas Paras, master's in business; Denise Eiswirth, master's in reading; Lydia Richardson, master's in industrial and organizational psychology; Jinga Mathews, bachelor of science in business administration in finance and James Redden, bachelor's in English.

The Northern Illinois University grads were also peppered with local residents. From Oak Park, Rosie Fran Drumgoole received a bachelor of arts in journalism, Adam Phillip Morley, bachelor of arts in history; Kendrick Neces, bachelor of science in finance; Joli L. Phillips, bachelor's in education for students with developmental disabilities or multiple disabilities; and Toni Robinson, bachelor of science in community health. Michael Patr Santoro of River Forest received a bachelor of arts in economics.

Bridget Bacom Optholt of Oak Park received a bachelor of science and Nicolaus John Wygonik a bachelor of arts from Illinois State University.

Columbia College Chicago graduates include Oak Parkers Thomas Bligh, Paul Cozzi, Jarrett Davis, Alexander N. Jose, Rachel Kujr, Caitlin Renee Lavin, Yuji Murakami, Jeremiah Nelson, Johbari Townsend and Paul M. Hefner.

Kate E. Benisek of Oak Park graduated cum laude from Boston University with a bachelor's in history.

Kathleen M. Brey and Margaret S. Dunkin of Oak Park received bachelor's of arts degrees from Fordham University in New York.

Matt Crossett of Oak Park received a bachelor's degree in government and Spanish from Lawrence University. A 2001 Fenwick High School graduate, he's the son of David Crossett and Mary Walsh.

Casey Gamble of Oak Park, who graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School in 2001, also earned a bachelor's degree, in biology, from Lawrence University. She's the daughter of Timothy Gamble and Sally Wilson-Gamble.

Peter Franazek of Oak Park received a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio.

Jennifer Goldstein of Oak Park graduated cum laude from Clark University in Worcester, Mass. She majored in government & international relations and history. Jennifer is a 2001 graduate of OPRF.

Lauren Bridget O'Connor of River Forest graduated cum laude from Notre Dame University and will be attending Northwestern University Medical School this fall. She is the daughter of Neil and Patricia O'Connor and a 2001 graduate of St. Ignatius High School in Chicago.

Midshipman Christopher Rentner of Oak Park graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in King's Point, N.Y. He earned a bachelor of science in logistics and intermodal transportation and was commissioned as a U.S. Naval Reserve Ensign. He's the son of Bob and Terry Rentner.
