Almost 600 people packed the Lake Theatre's biggest auditorium last Wednesday night as Wednesday Journal celebrated its 25th anniversay with a special showing of The Blues Brothers during the film's 25th anniversary.

The crowd, a mix of people recalling their youth and many actually living their youth, sang along and clapped to the film's remarkable soundtrack of blues legends.

Journal Publisher Dan Haley introduced Mary Anne Brown, executive director of Hephzibah Children's Association, the beneficiary of the benefit. Val Camiletti of Val's halla warmed up the crowd by reminding the audience of the breadth of musical talent in the movie.

The evening was hosted by the Lake Theatre, whose owners, Classic Cinemas, are also celebrating their 25th year.
