Omigod! Just when we were ready to veg out into the dog days of summer, all hell has broken loose! There is so much cool stuff happening around here that the head spins! We are tempted to go eat donuts until the excitement passes, but we will not. Pencil gripped firmly in hand, we seize our daybook and write.
Friday, August 5: We go to the first day of the Fish Tales exhibit at Expressions Graphics (29 Harrison St., down by our house). Our mission: to examine certain Japanese fish prints by Ruth J. Patzloff and Janet Schill. We are highly suspicious that these artworks have been produced by slathering dead fish in paint and then slapping them against paper. The more we think about this activity, the more excited we get about doing it ourselves?#34;which we will be able to, you see, at the Adult Fish Printing Workshop on Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. It will be worth the $15 workshop fee to get hold of some dead fish and some paint, especially if we talk some of our unsuspecting friends into going.
Now we're getting all excited. We were actually supposed to have fish for supper tonight, according to our husband's menu plan. We're going to call him at work and volunteer to do the cooking?#34;for a change. Heh-heh. "Time for dinner, everyone!" Splat! Hee-hee-hee!
