In the city of Chicago, the following people were killed, August 1-6:  

Jabari Scurlock, 16; Dearies Arnold, 26; Julio Perkins, 30; Devonte Carthan,  17

Please keep their families and others touched by violence in your thoughts and prayers – and for the perpetrators and the impact the violence will have on their lives.  

The following list is sent by the Interfaith Committee for Detained Immigrants:

Remember the 35 immigrant detainees at the McHenry County Jail last week. They are from China, Columbia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jordan, Mexico, Peru, and Poland. May the outcomes be positive for all of the detainees and their families.
