We're supposed to be packing for our vacation. So hurry up and read this, so we can get to it. We haven't even started, and now we'll probably have to stay up really late, and it's all your fault.

We'd like to point out some interesting activities in Oak Park and River Forest for you to look forward to in the coming week. But we can't, because everything looks boring. It's the dog days of August, for Pete's sake. You should be on vacation, too.

But you're stuck here; God knows why. You may as well go to the Bubble Festival at Wonder Works (6445 North Ave. 383-4815) on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Blow some bubbles. Have a little fun. Oh, and there's the China Through the Lens program at the Oak Park Public Library (834 Lake St. 383-8200) on Monday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. Three urban planners/photographers showing photographs of China and Chinese people. The photos look really beautiful. You could go and pretend that you had to go home and pack afterward to go somewhere exotic.

We're not going anywhere exotic. We're going camping. The children do not want to go. Surprise, surprise.

Oh brother, you're still there. OK, how about auditioning for something, then? That might get your blood going. You can sing, dance, or act?#34;your choice. If you need details, look in the Calendar section. Sorry, but we really have to go.
