Mario C. Rossi, 87, died peacefully on August 9, 2012 at Rush Oak Park Hospital. He suffered from end-stage prostate cancer, kidney failure, congestive heart problems, and dementia. Born on April 25, 1925 to the late Andrea Rossi and Teresa Armellino, he served in the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged at the rank of corporal. An electrician, he also installed building alarms.
Mario Rossi is survived by his daughter, Relling (Bill) Westfall; his grandsons, Nicholas and John Westfall; his sister, Angeline Peppler; and his numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice M. Brison; his second wife, Bernice A. Alexunas; his sister, Josephine Nocerino; his half-sister, JoAnne; and his step-mother, Antoinette.
The funeral service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 924 Lake St. in Oak Park on Friday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m.
