The Firestone building sounds like a good place for the village to declare eminent domain, and then re-sell it to a developer (like they did with the much better maintained old Tasty Dog). That corner would be prime for more condos with a big grocery across the street and walking distance to schools, parks and CTA. In the meantime, can’t the village levy fines against the business for code violations? Homeowners get violations and fines for peeling paint on their garages. Why not a business?
