Ken, I really enjoyed your recent column [What would the 18-year-old think? Ken Trainor, Viewpoints, July 13], reflecting when young and then reflecting again, looking back. It made me think of when I reflected from the Indiana Dunes when I was young and would watch the sun set.
And thanks for the recommended reading list. I’m going to look for the Charles Kuralt book in particular. One thing I noticed though: All the authors are men! And the one place where a woman author’s book is mentioned (To Kill a Mockingbird), she’s not mentioned (Harper Lee). I would think your goddaughter would appreciate a few more women authors as well.
