Alison Barasa, 50, chairwoman of the board of Follett Corporation, OPRF grad

Alison O'Hara Barasa, 50 of Glenview died on July 20, 2013 of complications from breast cancer. Born in Oak Park on May 9, 1963, she graduated from OPRF, Colorado College, and received a Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado Law School. She was the Chairwoman of the Board of Follett Corporation, a family-owned company based in River Grove.

Her life outside the office revolved around her family and kids. Her marriage to Jim and her children, Amanda, Trevor and Tucker were her greatest joy and accomplishment. Her favorite place in the world was in Sandpointe, Idaho where her brother John lives with his family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Blvd. at Old Orchard Road in Skokie. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 25 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 1775 Grove St. in Glenview, IL.
