Mary Jane Miller, 90, of Oak Park died in her home surrounded by her loving family on June 16, 2012 from renal carcinoma. Born on September 2, 1921 in New Berlin, IL, she was the daughter of Alfred and Evelyn Dewey. Mary Jane was a 1940 graduate of Oak Park River Forest High School and resided in Oak Park for the majority of her life.
She relocated to Pompano Beach, FL in 1982, and returned permanently to her beloved Oak Park in 2009 to be with her family. She was a member of the Infant Welfare Society and active at Cuyler Avenue Methodist Church. Mary Jane supported her children's' involvements in Girl Scouts, as well as all other activities in which they participated. That support was extended throughout her lifetime to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends. Kind-hearted and fun-loving, she was a perfect hostess and welcomed all into her home. She was a lady in every sense of the word and our perpetual loss here on earth will be Heaven's gain for eternity.
Mary Jane Miller is survived by her children, Billie Jane (James) Robinson, Linda (James) Hermann, and Claudia (Paul) Frey; nieces, JoAnn Danielson and Mary Lou Taylor; stepdaughters, Jozelle (John) McDearmid, and Bonney (Bill) Forbes, Susan Carson, and Kitty Carson; grandchildren, Wendi Robinson Eulenfeld, Nicole Robinson, Adam Robinson, Donald Frey, Heather Frey, Lauren Frey Giorango, Carl Duffy, Michele Duffy Alvare, Heidi Danielson Diagne, Jennifer Danielson, and Evan Taylor; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-grandson; and her loyal dog, Lady. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William J. Nelson in 1966, her second husband, Kenneth L. Miller in 1982, and by her brother Jay Dewey. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date to be announced.
