A 19-year-old graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High School was shot and killed in the Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago July 18 at 1:30 p.m.

Alexander Mayo received multiple gunshot wounds to the body in the 1300 block of South Avers Avenue and was transported to Mt. Sinai hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead around 4 p.m., said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.

Mayo lived in the 1100 block of South Cuyler Avenue in Oak Park, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

"We have no one in custody, and we don't have any other details on the incident," Estrada said.
