Robert A. Young, Jr., 68, of River Forest died on July 16, 2011. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Niles and received his Bachelor's degree from Loyola University in Chicago. Bob retired from IBM after 25 years and continued in his own business.

He was a long-time resident of River Forest and Oak Park and a member of St. Luke Parish. Loving father, committed coach, and avid fan, he supported Little League and PONY baseball and girls' softball. Bob was often found in orange and blue cheering on the OPRF Huskies and Fighting Illini. He served as the Commissioner of the 550 Water Volleyball League. He enjoyed the Cubs, racquetball, fishing, Sunday family dinners and vacations.

Robert A. Young, Jr. is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susie; his mother, Betty; children, Jennifer DeMack, Colleen (Jim) Helenhouse, Catherine (Robert) Greendyke, Robert III (Veronica), Peggy (Shawn Egan), Molly, and Sarah; his grandchildren who affectionately called him "Bumpy." The grandchildren are Derion, Tyler, Sophie, Annsley, Delilah, Grant, Clark, and newborn, Emily. He is also survived by his siblings, Don (Susan), Tim, Mary Beth (Norm) Miller, and Chris (Lori); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Young, Sr.; and his brother, Michael.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 4 to 9 p.m. at Dreschler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park. Prayers on Friday, July 22, 9:15 a.m., then to St. Luke Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.
