Terrell L. Carter, 20, of the 1500 block of South Homan in Chicago was arrested for robbery, aggravated battery to a police officer, and resisting a peace officer on the 100 block of Harrison on July 13.
An unknown offender removed a Swindle bicycle from an enclosed rear porch of a residence on the 800 block of Washington between July 9 and July 10. A witness observed an offender exit the rear of the building and ride away northbound on the victim's bicycle. Estimated loss is $350.
An unknown offender removed a blue and white 21-speed Schwinn mountain bike from the backyard of a residence on the 300 block of Keystone on July 15.
An unknown offender removed a brown leather wallet from a purse left unattended at a location on the 6900 block of North on July 11.
An unknown offender removed a men's Hardrock mountain bicycle from a location on the 300 block of South Boulevard. on July 11. Estimated loss is $130.
An unknown offender removed a 15-speed Schwinn men's bicycle and specialized bicycle helmet from a location on the 100 block of N. Elmwood between July 6 and July 12. Estimated loss is $160.
Criminal damage to property
A witness stated that she was walking eastbound on the 7700 block of Lake on July 12 when she observed a dark colored, four-door sedan driving westbound on Lake at a slow speed. The witness heard three pops from a BB gun, which then shattered a large window in a vacant building.
An unknown offender by possible means of a BB gun broke the windows of three businesses on the first block of Lake between July 11 and July 12. Estimated damage is $1,500.
An unknown offender used a sharp object to scratch the paint on the passenger side doors of a vehicle parked on the 800 block of Fair Oaks on July 11. The rear passenger side tire was slashed as well. Estimated damage is $5,450.
Criminal damage to vehicle
An unknown offender broke the rear windshield of a vehicle parked in a driveway on the 700 block of Ashland on July 12 with BB gun pellets.
An unknown offender broke a rear window of a vehicle parked on the 1100 block of Paulina on July 12. Estimated damage is $700.
Burglary to garage
An unknown offender by unknown means entered a garage on the 500 block of North Harvey between July 9 and July 10 and removed two boys Magna Excitor bicycles, two men's 21-speed Diamond Back bicycles, a Black and Decker electric mower, a hedge trimmer, two bike helmets, three Razor scooters, orange jumper cables and a Sears Craftsman portable battery charger. The offender also removed $4 in cash from a vehicle parked in the garage. Estimated loss is $1,774.
An unknown offender entered a garage on the 1000 block of North Elmwood on July 12 and removed a Toro gas powered lawn mower, three sets of golf clubs, and three folding lawn chairs. Estimated loss is $795.
Disorderly conduct arrest
Devontay T. Tate, 19, of the 6400 block of South Sagamon in Chicago, and two male juveniles were arrested for an incident that occurred on the 300 block of North Ridgeland on July 11. Tate and one of the juveniles were charged with disorderly conduct. The other male juvenile was charged with aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, and reckless conduct.
An unknown offender entered an apartment on the 300 block of North Austin on July 12 and removed a video game system and a laptop computer. Estimated loss is $1,000.
An unknown offender entered a residence on the 1100 block of North Austin on July 14 through an unlocked rear or basement door. Once inside, the offender removed an X-Box game console, cords, controller, approximately five X-Box games, and a laptop computer belonging to Oak Park School District 97. A witness observed two black male subjects at the front door, which prompted a call to police. The first offender is described as a black male in his 20s, 6-feet tall, 200 pounds, with black dredlocks. He was last seen heading southbound on Austin from the scene. The second offender is described as a black male in his 30s, 6-feet tall, 200 pounds with black low cut hair. He was last seen heading northbound on Austin from the scene.
Two unknown offenders approached a victim on the 500 block of Carpenter on July 12. One offender stated "let me see your iPod." The victim then began to run southbound on Carpenter, and was followed for half a block by the offenders. The offenders then entered a gold Ford, possibly a Crown Victoria, and were last seen driving westbound on Adams. The first offender is described as a black male between 17 and 18 years old, 5-feet-11, 160 pounds with a shaved head. The second offender is described as a black male between 17 and 18 years old, 5-feet-11, 160 pounds, with a black braided hairstyle.
An unknown offender approached a victim while she was walking on the 100 block of North Taylor on July 16 and attempted to grab her left arm. The offender then pushed the victim in the chest, causing her to fall to the ground. The offender then attempted to remove the victim's cell phone from her hand, but fled when the victim began to fight back. He was last seen heading southbound on Taylor on a bicycle.
Two unknown offenders approached a victim from the rear on the 300 block of North Scoville on July 12. One offender struck the victim on the right side of the face while the other removed the victim's U.S. Volleyball backpack containing a Blackberry cell phone and wallet containing $1,000 in cash. The offenders were last seen heading southbound on North Scoville on foot. Estimated loss is $1,440.
Two unknown offenders approached a victim on the Metra platform on the 1100 block of North Blvd. on July 15. The offenders pushed the victim to the ground and then struck him. One of the offenders then removed the victim's wallet from his pants pocket and removed $25 in cash. The offenders then fled in an unknown direction.
A juvenile from Chicago was arrested for the theft of a bicycle at Mayfield and Erie on July 13. The juvenile was later turned over to the custody of a parent.
An unknown offender by means of forced entry entered a location on the 900 block of North Humphrey between July 12 and July 14 and removed several feet of copper piping, three Rubbermaid totes containing unknown contents, a baby crib, and an aluminum ladder. Estimated loss is unknown.
An unknown offender used a pry-type tool to defeat the lock on the garage door at a location on the 1000 block of Woodbine between July 13 and July 14. Once inside, the offender removed a 21-speed girl's Schwinn bicycle. Estimated loss is $250.
Felony retail theft arrest
Kenyatta S. Cage, 38, of the 5300 block of West Washington in Chicago was arrested at a location on the 6000 block of Roosevelt and charged with felony retail theft.
These items were obtained from the Oak Park and River Forest police departments from July 11 to July 18, 2011. Not all incidents that occurred are listed. Anyone named in reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated.
