CAST Council would like to thank their many supporters in the Oak Park community. Two fundraisers, the There's No Place Like Home Benefit and Closing Ceremonies were successes because of the generous donations of local businesses.
The No Place Like Home event was established to raise money for the Henry Reid Memorial Fund, which provides scholarships for the summer CAST program. Generous food donations from Cucina Paradiso, Café Winberie, Trattoria 225, Buzz Café and Sugar Fixe made the event a success. CAST was able to award 25 partial scholarships for the 2012 summer program, all from donations to the Henry Reid Memorial Fund.
The generosity of Gary Nebiolo and Winberie's contributed to the success of the CAST Closing Ceremonies Dinner and Auction. This event is held annually and recognizes the students who have participated in the CAST program. Celebrity waiters serve at the event and Winberie's donates a portion of each check to CAST. A raffle at the event raises funds to supplement the CAST program. This year's raffle items were donated by the following local businesses and individuals:
Brown Cow, Kinderhook Tap, Intuit Dance Studio, Paper Source, Eastgate Café, Classic Cinemas, The Competitive Foot, Pumpkin Moon, The Book Table, Denise Houser Design, Frame Warehouse, Oak Electric, Inc., Lisa Browdy Holistic Health Coach, Westgate Florists, Muse.
And last but not least, former Oak Parker Michael Reed, of Reed Rigging, has generously donated much of the equipment CAST Summer needed to create two new theater spaces for its performances of The Tempest and the original play, It's All in the Game. The CAST Summer Arts Institute will be presenting these plays, along with The Music Man, July 12-15. For a schedule of performances and tickets please visit www.op97.org/julian/cast or call 524-7848.
The CAST Council and all of the participants of CAST appreciate the community support of our program. Please consider to supporting these businesses to show your appreciation.

This was my son's first experience with CAST and he loved it. The productions were amazing. We're so happy there's a program like this available in Oak Park.
