Oak Park Development Corporation announced Monday that viaForensics, a tech firm based in Oak Park, will be relocating and expanding into the entire second floor of 1044 Lake Street. The longtime vacant space will be renovated to fit the company's needs, and occupancy is expected by fall of 2013.
The firm's owners, husband and wife Andrew Hoog and Chee Kim, are Oak Park residents who started the company in 2009. Since then, they have grown from two employees to more than 40, with 20 employed locally. This is their second brick-and-mortar expansion in Oak Park since 2010. viaForensics is an industry-leading mobile security and forensics firm. The company serves large commercial enterprises, mobile device manufacturers, and government agencies worldwide.
Hoog has published several books on mobile security and forensics, and also has multiple patents pending. In 2012, viaForensics was nominated as Rookie Security Company of the Year by SC Magazine.
