This Sunday, the Park District of Oak Park will be hosting a celebration of their 100th anniversary in Scoville Park. The Picnic in the Park event is free and open to everyone.

Scoville, which will shortly undergo renovations, will have a lot to offer on this weekend afternoon. A stage will be set up for live music with acts including Jason Kollum, Chicago Grandstand Big Band, Circus Boy, and Rhythm City. There will also be numerous attractions such as a root beer garden, face painters, balloon artists, photo booth and a giant slide and obstacle course.

Local vendors will also be offering food for sale in the food court. For a small entry fee of $20 a team, visitors can participate in the Baggo tournament starting at 3 p.m. for a chance to compete for cash prizes. The Park District encourages members of the community to donate personal hygiene items to the Oak Park and River Forest Food Pantry at this event. Festivities are set to begin at 2 p.m. and last until 7 p.m.
