Oak Park and River Forest police reports - July 4 to July 11

Delivery of alcohol to a minor

Patrick Lavigne, 20, of the 200 block of S. Cuyler was issued a citation on July 4 for hosting an underage drinking party.

Robbery

A victim was walking northbound on Humphrey from Washington on July 5 when a silver four-door vehicle pulled up alongside of him and three offenders exited the vehicle. One offender struck the victim in the face with a fist and a second offender stated "give me your shit" and attempted to reach into the victim's front pants pockets. The third offender removed the victim's backpack from his shoulders. All three offenders then reentered the vehicle and left the scene in an unknown direction. Estimated loss is $30.

Theft of motor vehicle

An unknown offender removed a gray 2011 Ford Focus while parked unlocked with the key in the ignition at a location on the 100 block of S. Harvey on July 4. Estimated loss is $12,000.

An unknown offender removed a blue 2008 Acura TL from the third floor level of the Holley Court parking garage on the 1100 block of Ontario between June 20 and July 4. Estimated loss is $30,000. The vehicle was later recovered on the 4600 block of W. Lake in Melrose Park on July 8.

An unknown offender by unknown means removed a blue 2008 Dodge Caravan parked on the 1100 block of Lyman on July 6. Estimated loss is $24,000.

Theft

An unknown offender removed a Blackberry Torch cell phone from a pool bag at a location on the 400 block of Lake on July 5. Estimated loss is $500.

An unknown offender removed a gray electric lawnmower with the power cord from the backyard of a residence located on the 1100 block of Clinton between July 1 and July 6. Estimated loss is $400.

An unknown offender removed a black 18-speed men's bicycle from a bike rack located on the 1000 block of North Blvd. on July 6. Estimated loss is $200.

An unknown offender cut the cable lock and removed a black and yellow men's mountain bicycle from a bike rack located on the 1000 block of North Blvd. on July 6. Estimated loss is $120.

Burglary to garage

An unknown offender was observed inside a garage on the 700 block of S. Taylor on July 6 carrying a box. The offender set the box down and fled the scene.

An unknown offender entered a garage on the 700 block of Lyman between July 5 and July 6 by cutting a screen to an open window. Once inside, the offender removed a bag that contained a gold and black Craftsman power drill with accessories, a hammer, and miscellaneous screwdrivers. Estimated loss is $170.

Burglary arrest

Lewis Lee Jr., 54, of the 900 block of S. Oak Park was arrested and charged with burglary for an incident that occurred on the 1100 block of S. Euclid on July 5.

Theft from person

An unknown offender removed $85 in cash from a victim's front left pants pocket on the 1000 block of Lake on July 5 by unknown means.

Burglary to auto

An unknown offender entered a vehicle parked on the 800 block of S. Maple between July 5 and July 6 and removed a 12-inch speaker and amplifier. Estimated loss is $200.

An unknown offender entered a vehicle parked on the 300 block of S. Taylor between July 5 and July 6 by unknown means. Once inside, the offender ransacked the interior and removed a gray Garmin GPS unit, a Pulse oximeter, $5 in cash, and a roll of quarters. Estimated loss is $265.

An unknown offender broke the window to the rear door of a vehicle parked on the 100 block of S. Grove on July 6. Once inside, the offender ransacked the interior and removed a yellow Dewalt power drill and a red Milwaukee power drill. Estimated loss is $900.

Criminal damage to property

An unknown offender by unknown means broke out a glass pane on the front door of a residence located on the 800 block of Madison on July 5. Estimated loss is $300.

Disorderly conduct

An unknown offender threw eggs at the front side of a residence located on the 900 block of N. East on July 7.

Leaving the scene of a vehicle crash arrest

Anthony R. Sanders, 32, of the 5600 block of S. Perry in Chicago was arrested on the 1100 block of Madison on July 6 for leaving the scene of an accident and cited for traffic violations. The suspect was released after posting bond.

Assault

An unknown offender became angry while inside Hemmingway Bistro on the 200 block of N. Oak Park on July 7 and threw some mints in the direction of the victim before exiting the restaurant. When the victim advised the offender not to return, the offender walked up to the victim, clenched her fists and threatened to batter the victim.

Manufacturing/delivery of cannabis arrest

Daniel F. Bourke, 18, of Maywood, was arrested at a location on the 300 block of N. Grove on July 9 for manufacturing and delivering cannabis and possession of cannabis.

Felony retail theft

Tehan N. Jones, 38, of the 3200 block of W. Arthington in Chicago was arrested at a location on the 1100 block of Lake on July 9 for felony retail theft.

Michelle D. Grace, 44, of the 300 block of N. Latrobe in Chicago was arrested at a location on the 400 block of N. Harlem on July 10 and charged with felony retail theft.

Armed robbery

Three unknown offenders described as black males, 20 years old, with shaved heads, approached a victim at a location on the 400 block of Wisconsin on July 10. The first offender pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the victim and demanded the victim's property. The victim was then struck by the offender. The victim's wallet containing miscellaneous identification cards, credit cards, and a cell phone were removed from the victim's pocket. Estimated loss is $165.

These items were obtained from the Oak Park and River Forest police departments from July 4 to July 11, 2011. Not all incidents that occurred are listed. Anyone named in reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated.
