The Oak Park Teacher Assistants Association is pleased to announce that Shirley Wright and Nancy Stoetzner have been chosen as Teacher Assistants of the Year! These individuals have assisted wherever and whenever needed. As officers on the OPTAA Executive Board, they have helped transform the union into a vital and respected organization that is for all and represents all. These ladies are truly professionals in their field. Never has there been a time when they did not rise to the occasion regardless of the circumstance.

Where Oak Park's children are concerned, these ladies have gone above and beyond the call as well. Both have worked with students of varying needs and abilities. The care, instruction, attention, and love they have given their students over the years are lessons from which all can learn. Oak Park's children have been fortunate to have had their lives touched by two such extraordinary educators.

Shirley Wright and Nancy Stoetzner are the OPTAA's most honorable this year. Their loyalty is unquestionable and their friendship everlasting. They are, quite simply, remarkable individuals. Their loss will be deeply felt by both the OPTAA and the children of D97. We salute them and wish them the very best on their retirement.
