Now that Chicago has seen the importance of banning handheld cell phones while the vehicle is in motion, can Oak Park do less?

Too many times drivers in Oak Park are seen blowing through stop signs while talking on handheld cell phones, laughing at the conversation in which they are engaged. With the summer upon us, children playing outside, mothers wheeling baby carriages crossing streets and the ignorance of motorists continuing to use cell phones while driving all contribute to accidents waiting to happen.

Wake up Oak Park! Ban handheld cell phone use in moving vehicles.
