Michiko "Mickey" Mizuno, 92, died on March 7, 2013 at Berkshire Rehab and Nursing Home in Forest Park. Born on October 10, 1920 in Los Angeles, Calif., she was a longtime resident of Oak Park and worked for several years at Suburban Trust and Savings Bank. An active member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Oak Park, she volunteered at the Economy Shop. An avid and loyal Cubs fan, she kept her Cubbie bear pillow with her until the end. She also enjoyed European travel.

Mickey Mizuno is survived by her only child, Kathy Mizuno. Her smile and zest for life will be remembered by all who were gifted to know her.

Visitation and a celebration of her life were held on May 10 at Kopicki's Parkwyn Funeral Home in Berwyn with Rev. Stephanie Escher officiating. A committal service will be held by Cornerstone UMC at a later date.

Memorials can be made to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) or the Animal Care League of Oak Park.

Mickey was a sweet, soft spoken, always smiling lady who made a trip to the bank a pleasure. I will remember her in my prayers.
