Copper stripped from Oak Park parking garage

Oak Park police reported that someone stripped about $2,200 worth of copper piping from the municipal parking garage in the 100 block of Forest Avenue sometime between June 11 and 24. The intruder entered the empty office suite at the Forest parking garage using a key, according to police and used a cutting device to remove 25 feet of copper piping from a water boiler located in a storage closet, then entered the garage storage rooms using a key and cut approximately 95 feet of copper piping from the ceiling of the storage room.
